Degree Programs
Degrees in Biology
The Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science in Biology provides the background for careers in the health professions or for advanced study in the biological sciences.
Both degrees require Biology 107, 108, 109, 331, 380, either 423 or 450, 480; Chemistry 118, 240, 341; Physics 121, 122.
The Bachelor of Science degree requires one year of foreign language and 40 hours of advanced biology electives.
The Bachelor of Art degree requires two years of foreign language and 32 hours of advanced biology electives.
Pre-Professional and Other Programs
The Biology Department offers Pre-Medicine, Pre-Dental, Pre-Optometry, Pr-Veterinary, and Pre-Medical Technology courses of study.
Certificates are available in Botany, Zoology, Field Biology, Microbiology, and Biotechnology.
Students can earn a Biology Minor by completing Biology 107, 108, 109, and 18 additional hours in biology. Six of these hours must by 300/400 level courses.
